The main function of the sealant is to preserve the original performance characteristics of the glass unit: heat and sound insulation of windows.
A double-glazed window is a prefabricated structure consisting of the following elements:
• glass,
• spacer frame,
• molecular sieve,
• sealant, which performs an insulating function.
LLC "Spektr" produces glass units with two sealing circuits, where each has its own functions. The first circuit creates impermeability, is resistant to sudden changes in pressure and temperature, prevents the penetration of gases and vapors and has excellent durability indicators. In order to comply with the technological process, the primary sealant is applied at our enterprise using high-tech expensive equipment.
Secondary sealing is necessary to give strength to glass units, so that the glass unit can withstand various loads, atmospheric influences, vibrations, etc. Secondary sealing must be strong and elastic.
Silicone is the most common and popular type of sealant, as it has high performance indicators and is characterized by excellent quality.
Due to its characteristics and special composition, silicone sealant for secondary sealing of glass units allows for reliable sealing and gluing of materials.
This sealant has several important characteristics:
• waterproof;
• elastic;
• heat- and frost-resistant;
• bonds well with any materials.
In accordance with GOST, the company "Spektr" strictly monitors the continuity of the sealing layers of the glass unit. Each sealing layer (primary and/or secondary) in glass units (including in places of corner joints) is continuous, without breaks and integrity violations. Sealant sagging in the outer sealing layer, as well as peeling of the sealing layers from the glass and the spacer frame along the entire perimeter of the glass unit are not allowed.
